Generator engine No 1 alternator troubleshooting and servicing.

On request by German Ship managers, Team CIAP Riding service team consist of One Marine Engineer, Electrical Engineer and a technician Boarded the Vessel from Seychelles and troubleshooting done on the Generator engine no 1 alternator.

Vessel was claiming the high temperature of windings and some sparks from coupling end.

CIAP experts looked in to the matters and Noticed Misalignment of the rotor and the faulty temperature sensors. Apart from that team pulled out the rotor and closely inspected for abnormalities. Rotor and the stator chemical cleaning carried out, properly baked and Boxed back after showing improved insulation to recommended values.

Team done complete troubleshooting and rectification and handed over the unit for ship staff with recommendation for safe operation till they renew pedestal bearing of the alternator.
