On request of ship managers Team CIAP boarded the vessel to overhaul exhaust valve. After proper isolation and disconnecting the necessary connection tried to lift up the exhaust valve but it failed due to exhaust VV seized in the cylinder head.
Decided to remove along with cylinder head and overhaul the exhaust vv outside. removed cylinder head and replaced with Spare cylinder head after testing exhaust vv proper operation which was mounted on the head.
Part by part overhauled and seized VV seat removed by Team CIAP. Noted heavy corrosion of the seat due to poor colling water quality.
Exhaust VV boxed back with recon seat by our personal and complete exhaust VV boxed back and leak test carried out. Once proper overhauling confirmed by vessel staff same handed over to ship to keep it as spare overhauled exhaust vv.
